I routinely tow me 5800lb camper with my 03 qc hemi truck with NO problems. I am not a maw maw driver and I generally tow 70 plus. While your 4.7 won't do that it WILL tow 6000 lbs just fine. Watch your engine temps , get whatever performance upgrades you can find too help. I hear throttle body spacers help the lil 4.7 quite a bit and so does a free flow exhaust. The biggest i would look into would be an aero wing. the more you can reduce drag the better off you are.

whats the gear ratio on a 07 thunder road 4.7? 3.92? the salesmen looked it up and he said it was a 3.92 but he didnt know for sure i told him that i thought it was too.

Just stay away from the overdrive.. If you are only towing it one time, you should be be ok. Like the fellas said, keep an eye on your gauges, specially your oil. Wish you would have gotten a trany oil temp gauge. If the road is pretty even, just cruise 55-60. Who cares if they pass you. Remember also that you are breaking with another 6000lbs. Make sure your break controller is ok. If you are towing it dry. You will be ok brother. Dont floor it, take your time... it wont leave you stranded.. just watch your gauges.. it is so important.. and honestly.. stay away from overdrive while you tow it.

 

but why does it say tow haul mode am i not supose to use that when im towing something?

 

My window sticker said Thunder Road Pkg and under that was the upgrade for 3.92
Even though I have a Hemi TR, me thinks the TR pkggets you the3.92s

I think you can look on yer rear end and its ratio istagged, also I have seen post on peeps lookin up Vin numbers online to find out also.
