2006 Dodge Quad Cab Vibration LATEST news
Well hello DF, I've been away for some time again. Daimler Chrysler,(DC),WOULD NOT FIX the vibrating truck. The Lemon Law in CA does not seem to be a good idea when dealing with DC.
DC DOES NOT participate with arbitraion in CA. If one used the Lemon Law, (for DC), one has to pay a contingency fee of between 25% to 50% of the settleent amount to the Lemon Law attorney. This makes it non economical to lose $$$ for the lemon and trying to getthe manufacturerto either fix or buy it back.
Well, I found that the motor vehicle dept. in CA has a new dept: (New Motor Vehicle Mediation Board), (NMVMB).
They reveiwed all my correspondence and service/attempted reports reports and contacted DC.
I received a telephone call from DC about 2 weeks later. Guess what? TheyWILL buy the truck back,
using an ISG, (Impartial Service Group), in Texas.
I have been contacted by them and arranged forthebuy back, (repurchase),being paidall $$$ paid for the truck, fees, taxesand add-ons minus a use fee of $443, for using the truck until I first took it in.for the vibration problem, (total of 2009 miles). There has been no discussion, yet,for payment to me for pain and suffering.
So, in about 3-5 days, I'll not be, (in this truck),bothered by the vibration, BTW, its getting worse, (noticable at more speeds now). It has a total of 5880 miles of it!
I hope this information can help others.

In reply: yes I paid the $100 to have them force balanced, (after the dealer said they did it).
That made no difference, although all four were within specs. for Michelin and less tha the 40 pounds per the machine.
They were balanced at 19, 7, 7, & 7 lbs. The vibration IS from the driveline! But DC WILL NOT go any further than the shims and balancing the, (one out of 3 out of tolerance), drive shafs that has been installed.
DC states,"this vibration ischaracteristic of the '06 QCs". I've informed them that "it should not be in any vehicle".
Thanks to all you for your interest. Good luck!

that is truly a bummer,
i like everything about my truck except for the
constant vibration thru the seats and shimmying in the wheel while on the highway.
its been 6 months since the last time a had mine at the dealer, they wanted to
mess with the driveshaft next. one would think that with so many people experiencing
such similar problems, they could and would get it fixed. but i guess they realized
that there are enough customers out there , willing to live with it , rather than complain.
what are you going to get next, if all works out?

As of today, paperwork and a check for the repurchase is on its way to So. Calif. agency.
I am looking at another Dodge, this time a mega cab, it has more rear seat room for me. I would like to, and probably will wait for the 2008's, to see what's new and so on. I drove an 07 mega cab and there was NO vibration all. I had to get "speacial" permission to driveon the freeway,at 65-75 MPH. The dealers wanted my trade in for only at #1- $18,400, and at #2 -for a start at $14,500 they stoped at $18,800. No Deal!!
I'm getting $28, 900+ when it's all done, all of what I paid plus the extra add ons..
Thanks fellows.

Never had any vibration issue with my '06 2500 QC PW.
My test drive was on the freeway. The only thing I noticed was the Dealer had about 60psi in the tires, and the ride was harsh.
First thing I did was drop the pressure to 40psi when I got it home.

I have a "launch shudder" that has slowly decreased over time on my 06 3500. I've had it since 3-36-06 and have managed to only put 12,600 miles on it.
