Default Help! The horn is driving me crazy

Anyone with an '07 Power Wagon know how to disable the horn chirp when locking the doors with the remote? The procedure described in the manual does not work. I had an '06 Power Wagon and I know it had an addendum to the manual that described the correct procedure, but I forget how to do it. If any '06 Power Wagon owners could remind me how it's done I'd greatly appreciate it,maybe it'll workon the '07.

Thanks

07's can only be disabled at the dealer. Sorry, I am in the same boat.

Yep, I was told that as well, but figured maybe someone would know. I was hoping that an '06 Power Wagon owner would post the procedure for that year since I know the method described in the '06 manual also did not work. They added some colored sheets in the paperwork that were an addendum to the manual describing the correct procedure. Iknow it's an outside shot, but it just might be the same method for the '07.

The instuctions for my 06 worked the first time. Here it is.

Disable Horn
1. Perform this operation while standing outside the vehicle.
2. Press and hold for LOCK button on a programmed key fob.
3. Continue to hold the LOCK button, wait at least 4 seconds, but no longer than 10 seconds, then press and hold the PANIC button. Release both buttons at the same time.
4. To reactivate this feature, repeat the above steps.

Very strange why Dodge would change this for the 07's

These are the instuctions on my 06 to unlock all doors on the first press of the unlock button. Not sure if it works on other years.

1. Perform this operation while standing outside the vehicle.
2. Press and hold for LOCK button on your key fob.
3. Continue to hold the LOCK button, wait at least 4 seconds, but no longer than 10 seconds, then press and hold theUNLOCK button while still holding the LOCK button.
4. Release both buttons at the same time.

Moodie,

Thanks for the info. That is the same procedure that's in the '07 manual. I'm curious, did you have an addendum to your manual, or was that straight from the manual. It may not have beenall '06's that had the addendum. I know that for my '06, the addendum had me inside the truck for the procedure, whereas in the manual it described doing it from the outside, as you describe. Unfortunately, that's all I remember about it, the actual procedure escapes me.

Thanks though.

Also, I'm curious if you've had any problems with the lockers on your '06. Many on this board have, including myself. Although I know people with problems often seek out boards such as this, making a problem appear more widespread than it might actually be, Iwonder ifthere might be an issue with the '06's.

The procedure was on a yellow piece of paper as an addendum. I've had no problem with my door locks ... but now that I've talked about it I may have jinxed myself

I have an 07 and I wanted to do/change 3 things related toentry and exit:

1. eliminate the horn when locking;
2. unlock all doors at firstclick ofthe keyfob (rather than one click =driver side and second click =all doors);
3.after engine cutoff, all doors unlock when one of the front doors opens.

All 3 are stated inmymanual, and NOT as an addendum. Only was able to do one of those myself using the procedure in the manual, #2. Had to have the dealer do #1 & #3 using the programmer.

Alright, thanks. I guess they simply screwed it up on the 07's and I'll have to go to the dealer and have them disable it.

And Moodie, I guess I remembered it wrong. I'd make some witness, eh

Thanks for the help.

I was able to disable the horn chirp first try using the same proceedure on my new 07 1500. My truck had a small pamphlet listing these proceedures. I can't figure out why it works for some and not for others. Maybe it is just certain combinations of options or packages.
