Default I'm tired of this

Alright i got a 07 3.7 ram its the sxt.... anyways im getting dual exhaust and so far ive researched this topic for way too long. i have talked to a magnaflowexhaust place close to where i live and he says he will do it for $300 muffler, pipes and all.. not a bad deal. anyways before i just go ahead and do it i want to know what magnaflow sounds like on my truck or any v6 truck for that matter. i dont care about overpowering loud just want a little rumble and maybe some performance out of this cuz i have come to the conclusion that our 3.7's are a tad bit on the slow side when it comes to acceleration. not complaining i love my truck got it for one heck of a deal.. it was brand new and only paid 6 grand for it. with trading in an 04 alero. anyways i want to know once and for all if this is worth getting. and what muffler exactly i should get... thanks to everyone in advance!!

Well, congrats on the 6,000 large ones. Maybe another 2 or 3, could had a V8. More torque, better sound on the exhaust. I have tried the Flows 40 delta single out, 40 dual out and 50 delta dual out. I am keeping right now the 40 dual out. Its nice at low rpms, the higher you get the worst it gets. I cant speak for magnas. I tell you I heard a V6 3.9L with magnas and it sounded nice, except the bastard would not tell me what model. Tell the pipe place to put them on without welding and let you hear them. Then make your pick.

hey thanks a lot that actually helped me because i was very hesitant about getting duals, so i think ill ask to hear it before i get em welded on. at least i hope he lets me do that.. id much rather pay $100 for him to let me hear it and everything than $300 and it sounding horrible..another question i know that when i get these i'll probably lose low end torque my question is if i lose the low end torque am i going to lose MPG also? i have a light foot most of the time probably drive around 60-65 tops.. and as for getting a v8 i thought like you did probably v6 = better gas mileage holy cow we were wrong. i went from 30 mpg in my car to like 15 in this bad boy... o well guess thats what jobs are for haha

Yeah, I thoughts the same when I got the V6. What a way to be informed by the salesman. Get the Liberty Intake, it helped me with the MPG so far, I will post the final numbers next week at fillup.
I will think you will loose MPG since you'll have to work harder to get moving = more gas. Driving at HWY speeds is not the problem, its getting to them.
I'll probably switch to the flowmaster 50, to hear it again. After driving with stock muffler for about a month, the 40 aint doing it now. Specially after hearing the engine with the new intake.

ya an intake will come eventually i have to quit my job in september for basketball. so my funds will be short till march. what size of pipe do you think they will use. like 2.5 or smaller?? it really doesnt matter to me i mean like i said what i want out of this exhaust is a nice rumble. my dad is a cop after all and im sure he wouldnt appreciate me getting exhaust tickets. but around here they arent strict about that kind of stuff.

2.5 for V6 in, you might want the outs to be 2 if you go dual. You'll loose more torque if you go wider in the outs.

Listen up, something I never hear about anymore is exhaust systems from Borolla. I had a 2.5" cat-back with a S/I - D/O going out to dual 3" chrome tips on my 1993 (or 94, i trully forgot!) Dakota. It souded AWSOME! Was not going to do anything on the exaust on this new Ram, but the more I get to thinking about that old Dakota, the more I want another Borolla ! I'ts sound was kinda loud, but it was like a low tone rumble loud. Kinda like thunder. Had several freinds tell me it sounded like a Detroit Diesel when I would take off from our local gathering spot & head off up the hill. (About a 3/8 mile, 15% grade, uphill run from the parking lot entrance/exit.) Just one more to think about. Not shure if they are even in busness anymore or not. And Icannot for the life of me remember the model # ofthat muffler. It was about 12" oval X 24-28" long.

Are you gonna do headers as well or just a cat back system? as far as power have you searched the threads for anything to help with that as more power typically equals better mileage if you have the discipline to keep your foot out of it? I am personally going to take the cat off and put a areo 4040 on mine with 5 inch exhaust but it is a different type of 6 cyl. I would persoanlly go with a intake and exhaust at the same time if you can spare the extra funds even a cheap ebay intake will help, you can always put the filter of your choice and if you need to can heat wrap the intake tube.
