Default 05 1500 4.7 Low Idle Question

I have 2005 1500 Ram with 27,000 miles, starting to notice idle dropping down to 500 rpms at stop lights etc... it idles a bit rough at this RPM... Other times it's at 550 / 600 and is fine idling. I'm using gas with detergents and also had the combustion chamber cleaned by dealer few thou miles ago... Any solutions? Thanks!

Seems too early for a tune up, but you might wanna check you spark plugs/wire and/or timing. water might be a issue if you get alot of due/rain or wash the engine alot. Also might wanna try 93 octane for a tank and see what happens then, wont hurt it.

Sit tight and wait for the "trade it in for a HEMI" responses. [sm=smiley35.gif]

My previous truck was an 05 4.7... After the truck was warmed up it would idle at about 500 and be rough... .I called the dealer... and they took it and looked at it and blamed the computer for tryin to stay within EPA guidelines... But now I have an 07 Hemi and it idles the same way... again .... after it get to normal operating temps... Hope that helps... atleast your not the only one having that same problem...
