Default RE: K&N vs AirRaid Intake?

Hi all! My first post here.

I recently purchased a '05 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4 with the 4.7L. Although I've only filled the tank twice, it looks like I'm averaging about 16.5 mpg. I decided to purchase an Airaid CAI system and will be getting a Flowmaster muffler soon. While any performance gains will be appreciated, I'm looking more for possible fuel savings.

I don't which is better between the K&N and the Airaid, but I preferred the installation of the Airaid, which utilizes the mount of the airbox vs. what needs to be removed for the K&N.

I got my set-up for $241 and change, including the cleaning and oiling kit.

MeTaL,
Just rememberyou needIntake and Exhaust. More IN needs More OUT. One without the other isn't as effective as both together.

Single sided (unbiased) research tactics never reallytake that into account. It is funny when the links post turn around and bitethem on the ****, contradictingtheir argument.

Anyone can research the Internet and Regurgatate usless information. We like to keep it real here so listen to those "Suckers" that have actual experience with the questions you have.
Sigh...

Funny picture Pappy...

For someone who has not yet bought an aftermarket air intake
it is worth thinking about:

"Why are people who have already bought a CAI so emotional?
Why do they so often use cuss words and insults?
Are the angriest people the ones who inside know they are wrong?"

Two other very common aftermarket accessories for pickup trucks
are
Tonneaus (hard vs soft)
and Computer Chip Tuners (Superchips vs Hypertech)

Compare the words and language that are used in posts
about Cold Air Intakes
to those posts about Tonneaus and Tuners.

Why do emotions boil in CAI posts
and Tonneau and Tuner posts are
more 'matter of fact' ?

Because you don't post your useless crap in the other topics threads... quoting others work and such as your own. I still don't believe you own a 3rd gen ram, or a ram, not even a truck for that matter.

I like this game - can I play?

Let me see does name calling count as an insult? Yeah, I'm pretty much sure it does. So like I always say “If you draw first blood expect a response in kindâ€

Here are some of the ones I like.
Why do some people talk down their nose to others?
Is it because they consider themselves to be some kind of higher status?
Why do they never seem to have a sense of humor?
Could it be they have no real opinion/experience of their own?
Can they do anything without the use of Unbiased Scientific Independent Testing?

And

Why can’t some people just drop a nice positive comment on another persons ride?
Is it because they have a negative attitude?
Why do some people post lots of worthless Non-Dodge information or anything that remotely resembles a Ram Truck for that matter? Let’s say umm like an Air Plane. Yeah that works.

But my all time favorite is…
When someone disagrees with them, lets say on air filters or brakes systems maybe. They get just as emotional as those they look down upon from their lofty high place. Then they post massive amounts of information only to contradict themselves.

Then to top it all off they try to spin their way out of the jam they are in.

Now that just makes my day.

Funny thing is there won't be a reply post following this... call bs and gone he goes. Question abouthis ride or the aeronautical aucusical analapplication engineering doctorate that he has and never a response. Some guy asks about an intake and he throws up all sorts of negative stuff. Just old man, take the "look how smart I am" show somewhere else.
