'04 Ram Front Wheel Drive Disengagement
Does anyone know if there are any kits to fully disengage the front wheel drive hubson the Rams that remain engaged when not in four wheel drive, thus adding more drag to the vehicle? I believe the '05 Rams or newer are fully disengaged when not in four wheel drive. Any thoughts?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Check Dynatrac's website. I don't know if it will work on the 1500.
The 2500 and 3500 trucks have a solid front axle. The entire driveline spins all the time. The loss in mileage is probably minimal.
I like being able to select 4WD without stopping to lock hubs.
One advantage tomanual hubs is you can add a limited slip front differential, and not have it affect the steering when the hubs are free-running. I did this on my Ford Ranger.
