I am being told by a major on-line electronics retailer that the 06/07 Rams can't have an aftermarket stereo receiver with a fold-down type face due to the bezel design. They indicate that there is a lack of clearance which prevents the fold-down function from working properly.
Has anyone else had any experience with this?

 

Yep, I bought a JVC avx33 ( I think) and it has the motorized screen, I have to leave it at a slight angle because the dash kit has some clearance issues, I havent had time to trim it up but I think it just needs a little shaving at the bottom of the bezel to make work, Ill try and get some pics of it tonight or tommorrow

 

I have a Pioneer HU in my 07 and it has a standard fold down faceplate to access the CD player. I have heard the same thing about some of the Hu that have flip out screens, but have no direct experience with them.

 

So do you have any problems??

Im looking at getting a Kenwood for my 07 and it has a motorized face plate,does this mean it wont work at all??

 

They work it just takes a bit of trimming on them. When you install it they will need to make some sort of plate or bezel because of the round ****.
