While I did not have any dyno results I noticed about 1mpg better off this setup. When using some mods like this a 1/2 mpg here 2 mpg there start adding up in the long run. With everything I have on my truck right now I get about 22mpg on the highway at 65mph, depending on grade and outside temps.

 

Actually the Bleed Hole is for letting air out of the system, so you can fillit (top itoff) before the systemreaches operating temp. Me thinks it is more to protect the heads/engin from hot spots, running low on coolant. However it does work both ways.

I find this about as useful as **** on a boar hog as it is slow as molasses. I just topped it off and added coolant as need.

Clutch fans do lock up at a specific temp, they canalso fail to lock up or lock up altogether if their magic mystery fluid stops working. So an e-fan is in my future.

Plus I like the cool aluminum “HEMI� radiator bar Hammer got with his.

 

i am surprised you gained mpg... i would think the opposite... you think it was worth it than?

 

Me too. I always heard growing up, that carb motors run better cooler and fuel injection run better(better mpg) hotter.

Judging from the fact that the majority of you have Hemi's. I guess my question is this. Is this T-180 only for Hemi's?

And has anyone checked, to see what the long term effects will be with this install?

you can get a 180 stat for any motor.... your font is awfully large...

My temp needle is at the exact same point as yours after the mod...but my gauge never reached the "old" normal op. temp....you're right, that bottom bolt is a bitch...turned a 15 minute job into a 40 minute job, gotta have the right tools....again, thank you so much for this post!
