Default Stainless nerf bars

I am looking at stainless nerf bars. I have decided on the oval kind. All of the companies except NASTAuse regular steel mounting hardware. Nasta uses stainless steel hardware, but they are about $100 a pair higher than most of the others. Has anybody had a set of boards on there truck for more than 6 or 7 years with the regular steel hardware. And if so, have you had to replace the hardware because it rusted off. Thanks in advance.

SS is the way to go, but I don't think any others have rusted off. Just take care of em and they will be fine.

Yeah... never had a problem with the hardware... you might get surface rust, but who cares, as long as the steps don't your good. You can even get that spray on undercoating and put that on if you are concerned.

buy some of the rust preventor in a spray can, spray them real well before you put them on (couple coats) then maybe once a year before winter hit them again.
