I've have an 03 Hemi with a broken intake valve on number 8 cylinder, and 100k miles. Curious as to how many people this has happened to, what cylinder and how many miles ya have. THANKS
Update. Dodge has changed the valve springs. See the pictures. They added the shroud around the spring to prevent the spring from "Bowing" under compression. If ya break one, ya need to change em all.

I ordered the valve springs, all of them. Dodge has made a change to the design. They added a piece of metal that goes all the way around the bottom half of the spring, which clips to the bottom as well. This was done to prevent the spring from "Bowing" under compression, which over time causes the spring to break. Since they did an upgrade to them, I'm replaceing all the springs do be safe. IF ONE BROKE, SURE THERE ARE MORE TO FOLLOW UNLESS CHANGED

It looks like you take good care of your equipment! No sludge build up at all on the head or rocker assemblies. The valve springs are the weak link in the HEMIs . You are not the first with this problem. Are you going with aftermarket springs? Comp Cams makes a good set. Pushrods are a good investment also,If you havent put it all back togeather yet, the stockers are 3 piece,a set of Comp or Manleys are one piece.

the shroud is crap and should be removed. the tabs break off and youhave little metal "feet" floating in your oil pan. one shop found several of them broken off with an 05 with 4,000 miles on them. id pull those off and shim them. thats what has been recomended for the 6.1L springs as they come with them as well.
question on the push rods... when i pulled mine out a while back they where one long piece... no three piece or two piece jsut one rod. any one else seen this?
