Quad Cab Speaker System
Well, as for the 5 x 7's with adaptors, they will fit the front, the back doors are rated for slightly oversized 6 1/2's. As for the thought 10's cant hit all ranges, the teni had in my explorer was rated, and hit, down to 18 hz, all in all a 10 in that cab with that kind of wattage should be planty to give you whip lash. good look, let us know how it turns out.

Well he doesnt have the truck yet, but we are still trying to find the speakers for a reasonable price. JL said they dont authorize online sales, but there are places you can get them online. That is why I was wondering about www.onlinecarstereo.com becaues I was wondering how there warranties work. I sent them an email so we will se I guess. [&:]
I have a single JL W1 10" in a sealed box under the rear passanger seat. Sounds great, and is run off a RF amp... I also have a JL 4 channel amp and want to upgrade my RF 3 way doors to a JL component system. I also have a RF head unit, and would eventually like to get a pioneer/ alpine DVDH/U... sofar my system sounds great. Run your wiring big, so you don't have to do it all over when you upgrade. And if you are like me, youwill be constantly upgrading.
Jl components are expensive but those evolution ZR series are really trick. ^^^ Medic is exaclty right with the wiring use the max that you can. Medic just a question but if you ever wanna sell that RF h/u i may be interested those h/u that rf made were some of the best. Squirt tahnx for finding that site I've always liked JL but there are so many brands that are just as good that I can get online for a much cheaper price. I like that someone found them online.
Yea let's hope for the best. IMO JL makes a great product but their products are just a tad bit too high priced considering that their close competition's prices are cheaper. but for loyalists they are the only way so that's probably why they get by with that pricing.
Jl Audio is a good brand, and everyone has their own favs, lol. But be warned, that if you purchase Jl audio anything online, no matter the site, Jl Audio will not warranty that product. No matter what the site you purchased them from may say. If you like Jl, stay with it, its ultimately what you want to listen to.

Based on this calculator, speaker wire difference in gauge from 16 to 18 is less than audible. I kept the same wire from stock(I think its 18), because to pass 16 or 14 gauge wire to the rear door, means two things:
Make another door jamb = drill two new holes on the door and cab
or
Modify the white harness at the stock door jamb.
If you are putting a box behind the seat and not under the bench, you are fine with any set up, ported or sealed, although I used to get boomier bass from a sealed. Make sure your ohms match, so if you have a sub that is 4 ohms pair it with a 4 ohms amp. I learned the hard way when I had a 2 ohm amp to my 4 ohm sub, sounded like crap.
The only thing I was able to fit on my rear door was a 5 1/4 speaker round. If you can modify it to fit something bigger, go for it. I did not have the time.
Good luck.
