shocks
I just put on skyjacker nitro shocks on my front end this past weekend. After I cranked my torsion bars to fit bigger tires,it caused me to top-out when I hit speed bumps. So after the research, Skyjacker's were the only shocks I could find that come with an add'l inch of play. So far, I'm not too happy with the ride. It is indeed much stiffer. I think I'm going to fabricate some bushings and put my original shocks back on.
If you're looking for replacement shocks for your factory setup, I've heard good things about Bilstein and Edelbrock....

I have Rancho 9000x's and think they are just fine. They were running a special when I bought my Rancho 4" Suspension Lift Kit, where the 4 shocks were free (about a $360 value).
However, I know a few guys who have gone from Ranchos to Bilsteins and say there is no comparison, the Bilstein's are far better shocks.

A little off topic but..................about this "topping out"
What does it sound like?
I have an 03 Hemi and it came with Rancho 5000's on it. Although I'm happy with the ride, I noticed that a previous owner had done the "level" with the torsion bar crank and fitted the Rancho's.
However, only when I go over a speed bump or other high obstacle, I can here what can only be described as a "clonk" when the suspension changes. Like something is "bottoming out".
Is that the sound your describing?
Aslo, what brand of shock takes into account a torsion bar crank, so I won't get this if I fit them?
Any feedback from any suspension guru's would help? [sm=offtopic.gif][sm=feedback.gif]

As soon as I can find them, I will be going with the bilstiens...I need them 2" longer in the front (level), buthave had them on a couple other trucks and the difference is superb. Any ideas on where to get just two 2" taller. I have only seen sets of four, but the rear two need to remain stock height (or do they?)
