2002 5.9 Dodge ram Thoughts.....
Ive been doing my home work on this engine and found lots of usful info here!! But one thing that everyone seems to agree on is that you need to get more air into the engine..Right?....So do they make a CAI that goes into the fender?....And is the heat shield on the K & N enough?....I kinda want to here some thoughts.... The only thing I have done so far (performance wise) is a dynomax muffler....not a bad sound by the way {didnt want to go with the Flowmaster 40 series (heard they are to loud!)}..
...Would I be better off replacing all the exhaust piping?....and not just the muffler and a tip?.... Was also thinking of the Fastman TB....(heard the spacers are worthless!!)... And last does anyone have a daily driver (i mean DAILY..you take it to work and back every day) with a supercharger?..what did you have to change Injectors, TB??? and how does it ride?...Thanks [sm=icon_cheers.gif]

CAI systems work well...TBI spaces are useful in older vehicles, but not in anything new. You will see some benefit from a set of headers....My preference is JBA ceramic headers...these will lower under hood temperatures which will enable you CAI more cool air. As far as a supercharge I will let you know. I will be testing a prototype supercharger within the next month. If I can't drive the car daily I will not recommend it. According to the initial test the Hemi will generate over 550 RHP with 8 lbs of boost. I'm looking at running the system at only 5-6 lbs since my only option for fuel is 91 octane....I will keep you informed on the progress...

That engine responds to everything you throw at it wuth the exception of the spacer. Breathing with the 360 is the ticket to good power. The exhaust manifolds are decent but headers are better. If I'm not mistaken, Kenne Bell has a supercharger kit for the 5.9L and should be livable in street trim.
