Default Care for Leather

Hey guys just wondering how everyone takes care of there leather interior. This is the first vehicle I have ever had with leather. Have always been a fan of cloth until now, I absolutely love the leather but was wondering if there is anything special that needs to be done to it or for it. Any help would be great.

Mothers makes a really good cleaner for leather, makes it shine like new. I used to use it on my first car even when it wasnt dirty just to get that shine.

I agree with Hanson... I don't have leather but the wife to be's POS jetta (I HATE jettas... always something wrong with them) does... any decent company like mothers or meguires has leather cleaner/ conditioner... the conditioner is the important part (just ask any woman), making the leather soft and shiney, keeping it moisturized and from cracking.

Remember that the factoryleather on most American cars has a vinyl coating on it, so you really don't have to use the special leather products. You can use any sort of upholstery cleaner to clean it. I have a Chrysler 300M with leather seats. I vacuum the crevices thoroughly and clean with a damp cloth. About twice a year I will apply Griot's vinyl dressing, let it sit for a few minutes, and then wipe off any excess with a clean cloth. This car sits out in the sun every day, and the seats still look like new.

Personally - I like Meguires their product is great. I use it on my Wife's car, my bike and the truck. I am kind of **** about my toys (I always figured it is easier and cheaper to maintain than to replace), so I use it every two weeks. Stay away from anything that is amonia based as it will dry up the leather.
