ok, so i got my new truck about 5 months ago. its a 2007 dodge ram 1500 sxt... its mineral gray.

i need help tho... iman 18year old girland i dont evenknow where to even start looking... or what to start looking for when it comes to:

headers
air intake
exhaust
a turbo
etc.
(and basically anything else that will make my truck bad ***... and faster)

anyone have any suggestions?

 

If you are looking to make it go fast just add an STS Turbo system then, they put out 425rwhp I believe and it takes the place of both your intake and your exhaust system. Also upgrade some of the engineinternals too and your done. Or you can go through and find agood exhaust set up, a good CAI,and a programer whichwould be the cheaper route. Just do a few searches and you will find alot of information on here about all of that stuff.

 

The programmer will give you some juice, but no real increase in HP and Torque (it will give you about 10-20 HP/Lbs of torque increase), but nothing like a turbo will. What a programer will give you is better shift points and other adjustments that will make your truck much more throtle responsive. Do note that your truck has plenty of power just not a the lower RPM range. Personally I am not familiar with the STX model - What is your base engine on it? That is where you want to start, to see what kind of mods you can do to it.

Juicer is right, if you want raw power, go turbo way, but that is not cheap. Welcome to the forum and good luck to you, keep us posted on what you do.

On subject: it depends on how much you want to spend. The turbo will break the bank for sure with parts, tuning, installation (based on if you know how to install a turbo or not), etc. The little things help a little ie air intake, exhaust, e-fans, etc. The programmer gives you the most bang for your buck if you have to stick to a tighter budget.

DO you mean SLT????? If I'm not mistaken, dodge doesn't offerthe 07 ram in SXT..?????????????

 

STX models are for their cars (not trucks).... I could not find anything.

 

i have seen SXT model rams drive around, which are 2007's

i had a friend of mine ask me what the sxt model was.. i said i don't even think they make an sxt in the ram.

but sure enough i've seen a few drive around
they have a big SXT logo smacked on the bed of the truck.

 

you sure that was'nt an 06 ram? I've never seen an 07 SXT... The only one i've seen with a BIG sticker on the side is a TRX4.... like mine...
