How do you recharge the ac. Which port is low and which is high.
Thanks,
Mike

The high side port is generally color coded with a red cap. It will be the larger of the two valves. The low side is color coded with a blue cap and is the smallest of the valves.
If that fails you the low side is usually closest to the drier.

Just a side note, if your going to do just a recharge then thats fine, but once you start replacing parts, such as o-rings or the what not, just save yourself some trouble and get a new orifice tube and drier. It will help the system last longer.

trace your lines, the suction (low side) runs from the evaporator to the compressor, the discharge (hi side) runs from the compressor to the condenser. usually the suction line is larger than the discharge line due to the suction line carrying gas and the discharge line carrying a liquid form.

We have the receiver drier off right now replacing it. The previous owner put a/c lines on this truck and never finished the job. He may have pulled the orifice out and threw it away, leaving me guessing which line in goes in. Does it go in one of the line right at the drier?
