Dodge makes a good truck but trannies are there issue. Chevy and Ford have issues too. so do toyota and nissan. pick your poison really.

Just an update to my previous post regarding my tranny problems. The shop just called me. Apparently it's the transducer and governer pressure sensor in the tranny. I'm looking at around $1000 to fix it so I told them to go ahead. Hopefully I won't run into any problems down the road cuz if I do, I think I'll trade the truck off.

whata rip imho. if they are only pulling the valve body off to get to what they need thats a joke of a price. a complete (top to bottom) rebuild kit costs 400bones. even if they ahve to drop the trans they are making away with some long *** labor. buddy just had his completly rebuilt for 2 grand. they better be putting in a shift kit and some amsoil fluid with a good bj. i just cant see how replacing two little pieces equates toa grand. unless they have to pull it completly apart. and if thats the case might as well beef it up some

Were thinking on a gas motor or diesel? The new diesel has a 6.7 with a new 68RFE trans. The other trucks are still the same. The 545RFE trans is better now than it was 2 years ago. The only weak point is the valve body, the side plate sometimes breaks off the bolts holding the plate. Yo has the owner all you need to do is when replacing the filters, just ck the bolts to be sure they are torque . it takes 25 or 30 torque socket.
