Default TRADE-IN WOES.

2007 v-6, auto trans ram, 11,423 miles on odo.
I have not been to enthused with our truck since we bought it in January. (See my past posts) SO,,,, went to the dealership at lunchtime today, told the service department that it was screwing up,,,,,again,,,,walked over to the next building & started talking to the salesman about trading for a different truck, or maybe a new Jeep Patriot, or a new Advenger (Wich, by the way, I loved!!)They said "SHURE! Well be glad to work something out! Lets see what we can give for yours! About 15 minuts or so, the salesman & finance mgr. walked back in and said " weel give you $11,900 for it. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, $11,900 !!!!!!!! For a truck that just sold for $23,8XX 7 months ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know vehicles will depreciate when you drive them off the lot, but 50% depriciation in less than a year?!?!?!!!!!! This WILL be the LAST new Dodge I will EVER buy!!!!!!!

Problem is that they sell the v6's brand new for 13k. When I sold cars the dealer I worked for would usually look at NADA (it has lower valuse that kelly blue book) book on the vehicle and then lower it by a 1000 or more to start off discussions and just say "we just bought one just like yours and paid xxxx." If they don't lookmad or act surprised then we would remain quiet but if they freak out then we say "well what wouldyou liketo get out of it." This is because some people are stupid and have no idea what their vehicle is worth and will so ok sounds good.

Yea you like the rest of us stuck with it most of us if could do it again, I know for me I would of gotten the Hemi they don't get that bad of MPG with the MSI system And do have the power to pull you around.

Also like there stock wheels much better.

Only other thing to do wait for anouther BIG rebate to get you out of the truck so you not so upside down.

I will never buy new again. Believe me, I will let the first owner take the loss and I'll get the benefits. My friend told me this. See, somebody will get your trade in at a bargain price. F'ing dealers, they will probably turn around and sell your trade in for $15,000.

Your not ****tin'!!! Take a look at this. I traded in my '93 Chevy diesel on this new Dodge. Trade in value was about $4600. I bickered for 2 hours to get $4100 from those bastards and that's where it ended. Now retail is $6000 and I think I would of been hard pressed to get that for a 14 year old reg. cab if I sold it myself. These jokers are asking twice retail for it now, take a look....

that's why owning a stealership is ..... a lucrative business.

they'll find someone that will come in, talk em down to about $9000-10000
and then finance there for about 12% interest and they'll make a killing
on every end of the deal.

50% depreciation on a v6 truck that is going to be extremely hard for them to sell again is not a very bad offer. especially considering the issues it's having.

as for always buying used. I'm never going to do it. did it once had gotten a vehicle that was taken care of on the outside but was obviously beaten on and driven hard. More problems than it was worth. I'll buy new so I know what i'm getting from now on.

Ha Ha I was like that when I was Young Drove them in to the ground beat the truck to death then trade it in for anouther new one but on the outside and the interior it looked new.

Buyer Beware it could of been one of my older trucks when I was young many moons ago don't worry I don't and can't afford to do this anymore I try to make them last now.

I also try to buy New someone else like me when I was young could of had it before I purchased it.

Yea it didn't help that It wasa Jeep wrangler which those things scream "beat on me I can take it" the guy that had it before me obviously was into burnouts and hard takeoffs. the clutch went first then the rear diff went. crummy dana 35 in the rear just totally grenaded. I mean grenaded. threw the pin through the top of the case then while it was lodged in there as the ring gear went around the pin shredded all the teeth off of it and then the pinion musta got mangled by some floating debree because it was missing a few teeth and to top it all off as I went around the corner after it happened the passenger side axle slid out.
