What an absolute nightmare!! And to think the other day when I found out that I had an open diff. I was kinda bummed out. Certainly not now. Very very relieved!!! As far as the warranty goes I have the extended 7/100K andI brought the truck toa non-Chrysler shop. I looked into this after speaking with a friend of mine who works for Nissan. Apparantly you can go to any ASE certified mechanic and they will submit the claim and deal with the warranty provider. Some mechanic shops don't want the hassle though. I'm not sure if this applies to your "factory" warranty. Mine is from Chrysler and is an extended warrantybut it may be different than "factory." Also, one last thing, try to check your state laws regarding warranty work. A simple google search should send you in the right direction. Good luck.

Do the open rear ends have C-Clip failures like the Limmted Slips do is this common for all 9.25 Dodge rear ends.

yeah, i wouldnt really worry about shavings that size. wait for the bigger pieces, that'll be like 2-3 weeks if youre really patient. it also has an express option if you are interested. complete failure in 24 hours guarenteed. lol

Dodge is that generous that they just give there extra scrap metal to you. Take that and get it checked out, PRONTO!
LOL!! Yeah, that's just to provide more weight down low. Helps cornering and adds traction.

I got the truck back yesterday. It still makes a moaning/rubbing noise but not as loud as before I dropped it off. It happens very lightlywhen driving straight andgets louder when making right hand turns only. No noise at all on left turns. I called the dealer back and they told me I have to drive it for 1000 miles to let thegears to wear in. Have you ever heard such a crock of ****!? How come the truck didn’t make this noise when I purchased it off the lot? Please, any suggestions?Does anyone know of a Dodge dealer in the tri-state area that has knowledgeable mechanics? This has got to stop. I have had this truck in the shop for 21 days since July. I looked up the lemon law in New Jersey and the car has to be less than 2 years old. And Im sorry, but spending $500 on a new, after market rear end is not an option.

The rear end mite get a little warm during break in but it should make no noise at all it sounds like it was not set up right, did they put LDS fluid in the rear?.

Take a look at you' state laws on auto repair they mite be a law that Is made to help you out in cases like this most pepole don't know about this.
This will make them fix it right if not do you have any freinds that are lawers have them give the dealer a cal tell them fix it right this week or you will take to anouther shop and bill the dealership for the repair, make sure they give you in writing that they are going to pay for it before you get it worked on.

Also tell the dealer no more playing by there rules the ball in you'r court now and you want the truck back this week and fixed right you want no more bring backs.

If you get a good repair shop they mite put you in a better carrior and charge the dealer for a stock Limmeted Slipand some better gear set When I had my last truck done he gave me a 1 year warennty on his work and parts that they installed. ( Call around at speed shop and race shop see who they would bring the truck to ).

How are you break it in drive it for 30 mintues let it cool down do this 4 or 5 times before you drive it for long time straight do not haul or tow anything heavy for 500 miles and change the fluid after 500 miles.

quite sure it would be the 10.5 becuase the mc 1500 is the exact same as a mc 2500 except for the weight ratings difference.

But you gotta look at things realistically. Would you really get a betterexperience with a different brand? It'd be like same ****, different day.
With a Ford, you would find out after 120,000 miles when the service is done. Toyota, I aint sure, but must be after 15,000 miles.
That sucks man, they told my friend the same 1000 mile story. That's just gimmick to get you off their back for about a month or so. Maybe so you get used to it humming on your ear. They have to replace the gears and bearings now, after doing a whole bunch of crap of shims and resetting the pinion. Your dealer just doesnt want to do the work and purchase the part. They messed up the first time under warranty, now it will cost them to fix it. What crooks. Report them to the BBB and Dodge corp.
Good luck.
