Man, this kind of crap really gets me. There was a thread posted earlier from someone who worked for a dealership or something and was asking input on how to improve the service and partsdepartments. Well you don't have to look far in this case!! The dealer telling you 1K miles is just that, a stall tactic. I would go to the service manager if you already have go to the General Manager/Owner and tell him your one step from calling Dodge. You never know he may not even knowthat the service dept. is is doing this to you. Do these dealerships have to fight to keep their 5 Star Rating? Or is it just a gimmick?

A new set of gears, when installed correctly, should never make any noise!

I called Dodge's corporate office this morning. They can’t do a thing for me. They are siding with the dealer and said I should go with the dealer’s recommendation and drive the truck for 2000 miles for the gears to wear in. I then called 2 truck service centers and they told me the rear, if done right should not make any sound. So now I’m stuck with a truck that makes whining, moaning noise when I drive it. I can’t believe the lack of response or service from Dodge. Their 1-800 customer service people are like a bunch of $5 an hour call takers. They actually ask you..."what would you like Dodge to do for you?" How about fix my F*ing truck...

Were they from India? No offense to that country but I called circuit city cause my brand new HDTV F%#*ed up and their call center was in Bali or something! Thats the big problem with big companies. You just cant get a real person who seems to care or want to work to help address your issues.

Well, I LOVE my truck...but after sliding into a ditch when my rear end locked up, and the dodge company and the dealer all say its due to neglect, I fear this (my first) dodge will be my last. The entire housing appeared to shift and started grinding into the housing about 1/2 inch, and that clip that everyone is talking about got stuck into my pinion gear, and locked the rear up, and twisted the shaft right off the rear! I talked to both the factory guys(who did not know squat...they had my explain what a rear end was) and then to the dealer...and they BOTH told me it was due to neglect, and that I did not change the fluid every 12k miles in the rear. How the heck do you neglect a 2wd rear end? And if anyone knows of a way to get Dodge to own up to there mistakes and fix there problems after the warranty has expired, let me know! I'm half tempted to throw the damaged rear in front of there show room so people can see what kind of crap can happen on these things.Sorry for ranting, but this pissed me off so much as a $30k truck with 90k miles SHOULD NOT BREAK LIKE THIS...I fixed the stupid thing myself with a good friends help, but its still not right...pinion is a tad loose, but 7k miles later its still moving down the road....

Really sorry to here about your Dodge. I have decided not to rant and rave anymore, because it doesn’t get any ware. I rather get them in the wallet. Dodge corporate sucks D!CK, I’m still waiting for my case manager to get back to me. I got rid of my Dodge three weeks ago. I’ll never buy another again. In the pastthree months, I have replaced both my wife’s SUV and my truck for Chevy's. In fact, I’m onthe purchasing committee for a new set of fire department vehicles in my district. You can be sure they won’t be Dodge's! Not like my switching to another car company or not even looking at Chrysler vehicles for my FD will really hurt them, butit makes me feel a little better. I make it appoint to tell all my brother's at the fire house, when they ask where my old truck is... what pieces of **** dodge is as a company and how they don’t support their vehicles, even under warranty.

I'm actually looking at the Tundra cause I have a friend with a camry with 350k miles, and they STILL treat her great! I admit, I love my ram, but when $2k repairs begin happening to a once $30k truck at just 90k miles, something is not right. I've fixed my issue myself, but this still burns me up...big time....I am not happy with the way I was treated, and can't see how a company can survive treating people the way I was treated. I run a computer shop, and IF I treated people that way, I sure as hell would NOT be in business because no one would like me! Funny thing, like a week after my rear end went out, Dodge came out with the liftetime drivetrain warranty....
