I have read that you should give your new vehicle a break in period before switching to synthetic oil like mobile 1 or royal purple. I have also read on the oil products websites you no longer have to do it. which do you think is better?

 

I would wait untill the first oil change.

I would wait until about the 2500 - 3000 mile mark. Make sure that everything is sealed and seeted good and then switch.

 

Yeah, basically that's what i did...I waited one oil change, then switched to Mobil 1....Knock on wood...at 80K miles no problems...
Suggested to a pal of mine, who used nothing but Dino oil.....And he was pleased with the results..
