Default Exhaust Mounting Question??

Does it matter where and how the muffler is mounted under the truck? Reason I ask is I had a Flowmaster 40 put on my truck. It sounds great inside and outside the truck until I hit1900 rpm's then the sound is ear numming inside the cab...

I'm wondering if the way it is mounted is causing the ROAR inside the cab? I noticed my stock muffler tailpipe has a rubber mount holding it off the frame. (which would keep the vibration or sound from traveling down the frame of the truck and keep the noise level down?)

Thanks for any info....

The stock location of the muffler in my 2004 QC was tucked up under the bed of the truck. For some reason, the muffler shops like to move it forward under the back seat of the cab.

Applying a louder muffler is another issue. The mounting location is one thing, but a louder muffler "Resonates" at different RPMs then stock ones and will be more noticable to the cab's passengers.

My exhaust is a Borla Cat-back system. The noise is more behind me then in the cab and the mounting locations are identical to stock.

My buddy's truck has the muffler in the same stock location, but dumps before the rear axle. His truck has a tremendous amount more interior noise then mine, so your exhaust exiting location canbe an issue as well.....

My 50 is pretty quiet inside the cab while I am cruising and not to unbearable when I get on it. Although I do have the mega cab and have a little more sound barrier with that.

I have mine dumped in the same location the stock was. It is very loud inside the cab. I have thought about turning it out the side, but then it won't be equally loud on drive by's..
