I'd be pretty embarresed if he got a Dodge, like I've been telling him to get, and he gets one that seems to have constantproblems .

As far as the race, denali's are fairly quick stock but with 3-4lbs of boost he should have spanked youalot more than by 1car length even with your mods.Must have been driver error, or you're making the race seem alot closer than what it actually was, or that"1 car length" your comparing it towasmore along the line ofan 18 wheeler's.

RE: Spanked by a Denali in my Hemi rc.
I grew up Chrysler & Mopar, my father was a chrysler mechanic for about 5 years when I was a kid, before getting a better job as a welding foreman. My uncle just retired a few years ago after 38 years as a Chrysler mechanic.
After having a '98 SC 1500 4x4 Dodge PU w/ 360CI, I kinda got disenchanted with Dodge trucks, as I thaught the 318 & 360 were getting a little "long in the tooth".
Next 2 trucks were Chevy's, one '00 extended cab Z71 P/U w/5.3 V8 and a '02 Avalanche Z71w/5.3 also(hence the handle "HammerZ71" as these were what I owned when I discovered the "forums").
Never really had an issue with either Chevy, other than the fact that BOTH burnt about a quart of oil every 1500 miles and nobody could ever explain why. Very dependable, ok power, much better gas mileage than the old Dodge 360 w/ better horses to boot.
BUT THE HEMI GOT ME BACK INTO DODGE, and there is no looking back, outperforms EVERY other gas truck on the market and without a doubt has more untapped power than any other V8 out there. Just add a few mods and "watch out".

the denalis weigh about 6000 lbs for the standard size and about 7000 i think for the xl. they are 320 hp stock with the 6.0. 0-60 in i think 8.5 or so with the standard size. as far as making things up........ the denali beat a 4700lb truck by a car length to 60 mph. if im putting around 300 hp to the ground you do the math on what he had to have been putting to the ground in a 6000 lb truck. its about right for the 3-4 lbs of boost. id guess somewhere around 400 .
