if you only have 400 miles why would you not bring it back to the dealer? that would have been the absolute first thing i did. Thats 26Kyou just spent and thats what your warranty is for

your O2 sensors take several thousnd miles to break in. might be what is causing it. my truck did that when i got it too. it doesnt do it anymore. im at 38000 miles now.

o2 sensors do not need to "break in". they can "work right" or be "slow" in response or dead... CRC electronic component cleaner can be used to clean them about every 25k miles or so... this will ensure a long happy life for them.

With all the crap I've done to my truck with the turbo, the tuners, etc. It still idles flat.

Around 650 colder (higher in the winter) and it'll drop down as far as 500 when really warmed up.

You guys with rough idles have issues with your trucks.

i have 75 000 km on my truck, and its only a year old, but i haven't had 1 problem with it yet, knock on wood...and it works really hard hauling bricks blocks and mortar all the time not to mention towing some mixers, but those only weigh about 2000 lbs so its not really a hole lot to tow.

It idles around 600. I figure id give it about 1000 miles and then take it in if it still does it.

Mine has done it since new. it has almost 11000 on it. Took it to dealer, they couldn't find anything wrong with it. If you put it into Neutral, it will go back to normal, back to drive and it sometimes is corrected, sometimes back to 500 rpm.

Mine does the 500rpm rough idle sometimes also, it's an 06 trx4 1500 with 7800 miles on it. Was going to take it back to the dealer but it looks like a lot of them do it and looks like the dealer won't be able to do anything about it.

Default RE: Rough Idle?

This is the "low idle conspiracy". Mine idled a little rough, kinda like the idle wasn't set high enough to sustain a nice smooth RPM. When I took it in for either my first or 2nd free oil change (3k or 6k miles), I made mention & asked them to check it. I was told the idle was a feature of the PCM and they would flash it with the latest, but if this did not fix the problem then there was nothing they could do about it.
Of course, it made no difference, and I could not believe that a freakin' FIVE STAR Authorized Chrysler Service Center, can't adjust a damn idle up 100 RPM or so!!!
So, I live with it, until....... at about a year and a half old and 18k miles I decide to get a Superchips Flashpaq, install the "Performance Tune" and now my slightly low, rough idle turns into a dead stall issue! Every time I shift from drive to reverse and most times I shift from drive to park! Uninstall the tune back to stock, never stalls, just that little rough dip, Install the tune, stalls every time.
So, for a year now, I've been on the Superchips Forum being told "It's a Chrysler Problem" & to the dealer, where, of course, "It's your tuner doing it". So, I've just been living with the fact that I have to play the old, left foot on the break, right foot on the gas, to hold the idle up just that little 100 or so rpms that NOBODY can adjust...

UPDATE: Installation of an E-FAN fixed the issue! I guess taking the stock fans drag off the engine was just enough to keep the idle from dipping enough to stall. I still watch the tach dip a bit when shifting to "R" or "P", but it's not enough for an outright stall. Has not stalled a single time since the e-fan went in...

Mine used to idle at 500 the performance tune on the superchips brought it to 600 and its much smoother
