has anyone here gutted they re cats?? was thinkin about doin it and wondered if anyone else has done it?

hmm i just re read what i wrote and sounds pretty savage

Not sure if it worth it. Will cause bad o2 readings and that will cause weird adjustments from your ecm. I would go with low restriction cats before i would gut one.

well from some of the people i talked to they all say the same thing theres not such thing as highflow cats so i just wondered about guttin it out

well, when i was gettin new tips put on i was talkin to the exhaust guy nd askin him about cuttin mine off completely, but i didn't want the engine light to come on because then i wouldn't kno wif anything was really wrong, he said he's seen some kind of sensor you put in that sends a good reading so the light doesn't come on for that, but he also said you lose 1 or 2 MPG doing it, but is sure would sound good haha

gas mileage doesnt bother me if i wanted that i would have gotten a hybrid hehe i have seen the fake sensors i just know that no exhaust shops will cut the damn thing off and neither will my wifes dad as he says i needs to be there for your emission controls so i was thinkin of guttin the **** outta it and finding the fake sensor

ha yehai guess thats the best way for you to go.. Stinks though casue just about every shop in SC will cut it out and just won't give you a reciept when you pay so yo have no proof of them doing it and its under the table money for them.
