Default sub/amp question

Is the anything I need to hook up a amp to the stock infinity system that came in my slt quadcab. I am planning on putting a 12" kicker comp VR and a kicker 400watt mono amp. I just want a sub with the stock speakers and head unit, is it possible.

im not sure about the infiniti system, i put in aftermartek head unit.. but i know you can't hook up the amp if you do'nt have RCA inputs in the back of your head unit, i do'nt think those units do, but IF i'm wrong and they do have them it should work fine. but everyone ahs also told me the biggest difference you'll ever notice in a system is a head unit and thats the truth.

you can install an amp on the Infinity System because I did on my 2007. It requires a line adapter that converts speaker wire signal to RCA outputs. Works great.
Also If you running an amp to power subs the overall quality of the head unit really doesntcome into play as much as the quality of your amp.
Yoursystem will sound just fine with the stock setup and adding an amp and subs.

it's not worth it, the sound quality is sh*t, and you don't get that low end bass. better off replacing the head unit.

Their ideas are good for hooking it up, but, that sub(use to have one at that wattage) will easily overpower the rest of your system. at high volume you will have a hard time hearing anything other than the sub. A deck, 4 speakers and atleast 40 watts rms per channel to the door speakers is recommended with that installation. They were able to keep up in my older vehicle and it had more air space to work with.
