Default low power below 2,500 rpm

I did a search and didn't find my question, so I will ask you all. I have a 05 Power Wagon with auto tran. It seems to have low power on the highway or around town when the engine is below 2,500 rpm. I push the pedal slowly down and it barely does anything. Once the tack hits 2,500 rpm the power suddenly comes on. This is not a down shift with the tranny. It is all engine. It seems like when the computer senses the engine reaching 2,500 it does something that hits a power band like an old two stroke motorcycle. I should mention that I don't notice it anytime off road, but only when driving pretty easliy say 40 to 60 miles per hour. No codes are tripped. Thanks for any suggestions. Scott

If your truck was '06 or newer I'd say that sounds like the MDS. Since we have no idea about your truck, we have no idea what your problem could be. Signatures are quite handy......

So it seeems. Sorry bout that. It still makes it a lot easier on everyone to have your specs out in plain sight, for those moments when dealing with retards[:@]. Example of more info: reg. cab / quad cab, short bed / long bed, gears, mods, programmers, oversized tires, heavy aftermarket wheels....

My suggestion, look into a power programmer if you don't already have one.

I'm surprised you have no low end with that truck, if I'm not mistaken the Power Wagon comes stock with 4.56 gears, which should really get you feeling the umph at lower speeds.
I know when I went from 3.92's to 4.56's I really felt it accelerating from a stand still and during slower, around town type driving...

pappy,
has the reset corrected yours, or is this just a logical suggestion? i've noticed the same thing on mine....while accelerating, i can tell a difference in power right at 2500rpm....i'm not saying it's a dog until then...just more power at 2500rpm.

ooops, almost forgot, i have a full size spare too if that'll make a difference

does the 05 have the electronic throttle control? Could be a bad or dirty swicth if its the electronic non cable throttle, otherwise maybe a pcm reset like stated before, though that is the normal speed range for the MDS(if it has a hemi), supports the pcm theory more, hmmm. As for reading you could have had a 4.7 or the Hemi, both do come with an auto tranny. hope this helps
