i am guessing you have 1500,i have 33x1250/17 on mine(1500)with plenty of room,i swear i could fit 35sbut they say not without lifting it,as for the torsion bars i turned them up to level the truck out and did not notice any change in the ride or tire wear

Wait, what are these torsion bars everybody (including you two) is speaking of? I can make my truck a bit more "lifted" by adjusting them or what? If so, I'm doing it tomorrow!

If you have a 2wd you dont have them, plus I think they did away with them on the 07 4wd anyways

All of the trucks sold w/ the 20" wheels came w/ 33" tires factory. So 33" is a given. I probably wouldn't go much more than a 35" w/o a lift though.

33" is about top stock. 35" is REAL tight w/ 2" level, but will go if you watch your offset & backspacing.
'06 & '07 do not have torsion bars as they were replaced by coil overs.
Yes, you should have an alignment if you crank the t-bars.
Yes, cranking the t-bars will cause a bit of a harsher ride.

I have 315/75/17 BFG's on my 1500...No problem. Cranked my torsions and needed alignment.
Cranking the torsion bars up does not make the front suspension stiffer. All you are doing is rotating the mounting point of the torsion bar. It adds no more tension. It would only add tension if the control arms were against a stop. It is no different than adding a spacer under leaf or coil springs. All you're really doing is changing the location of the spring.

The torsion keys just change the position of the torsion bars..."rotates them".
