Default Tundra vs. Ram 1500

i was just searching through the web today and found this video.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=0HQcJuvK73E

I can't help but wonder how valid this test is. (Granted, it was done by a Totoya dealership.)

Yeah, I saw this a loooong time ago! This video makes it seem like the Dodge isn't the HEMI. You can't see the HEMI logo. That Ram doesn't even look like an '06 either! They should have made it fair by using a 2007 Ram HEMI and showed the whole truck and not the rear-end. I don't think it is a valid video.

looks to me that the ram is not in 4wd, but the tundra is. that is why there is sooooo much wheel spin fro the ram and not the tundra.

Someone on youtube said that the tundra has LSD which would make sense since the tundra didnt spin wheels at all, while the ram layed down alot of smoke. I still think the ram whould have been beat but not quite that easy

either way the tundra is a faster truck stock. unless your doing close to 6 seconds to 60 you might as well hang it up. hopefully by 09 dodge will offer a 6.1 hemi in the ram. that would be cool.

The problem was, it was not a hemi, and the driver sucked, he just floored it. the tundra driver was careful not to break the tires loose. It looked to me that if the tundra driver was in the ram, it would have won...

Either way, they'd floor it in the Ram just to still make it look worse. But hey, the Tundra is a much stronger and faster truck. We gotta deal with it... Till 2009 that is!! lol.

I agree with Jr. Mechanic. The Dodge driver had a little LSD, himself. Anyway, I checked out the other "Tundra vs." links and it looks like everyone got smoked. Was it all smoke and mirrors or is the Tundra that bad-*** of a truck? I still wouldn't trade my truck for a Toyota...even if the video was accurate. Everyone seems to be gunning for the Hemi. Dodge has to be doing something right. There are a lot more of them in my area, than that of the competition.

That video is a joke. Anyone knows that if you just mash the throttle the tires are gonna go up in smoke and you'll have no traction at all. Give me a break, this was done at a Toyota dealership. Do you really think they're gonna let the dodge win? That's almost as bad as those infomercials on TV at 2:30 in the morning, you know, the ones where it seems like no one can open a jar of spagetti sauce without this all mighty special lid opener!!
