Tailgate Bandito's

RE: Tailgate Bandito's
Best defense I've seen is a one inch wide wire zip tie around both hinges on the bottom, it prevents tailgate removal completely. It's fairly easy to get them on down there, but a real bitch to get off.
Most thievs wont hassle cutting one, none the less two...it takes too much time.

i too just ordered a buly locking tailgate handle. had to have my tailgate repainted after a carwash scratched it. painted on them of course. 315 dollars worth. anyway, i was shocked at how fast the guy at the body shop removed my tailgate. took if at most 15 seconds.

I like that power lock one. I enjoy only having a house key and a truck key on my key ring so I wouldn't want one that needs a seperate key. I have a seperate key chain in my safe with my tool box keys, 98 ram keys, spare 06 ram keys, and the keys to my guns. I don't like having more than the absolute essentials so this power locking tail gate is a nice idea.
Anyone who gets one, make sure to do a write up on it when it is done with lots of pictures and a review.

In that case I would just get my truck hooked up to get jumped and open the tail gate as soon as I was plugged into someone elses battery supply. If the battery is dead it's not like you will be going anywhere anyways.
