I got one off ebay that had a pic of all the included parts but zero instructions.

Since it isn't rocket science - basically a tube with an engine on one end and a filter on the other - I installed it pretty easily. I did have a few problems though. My heat shield looked like it was supposed to share a radiator shroud mounting bolt yet the bolt wasn't long enough to reconnect with the tiny amount of material the shroud added. The brace welded to the tube pointed towards nothing that it could be mounted to. There's no other way the tube could be oriented either - everything else lines up properly. So, my heat shield is held in with one bolt and the intake tube is held by nothing but the coupler at the throttle body and it's resting on the heatshield on the other end. Nothing is going anywhere though - it can't move at all.

Now to the results: OMFG!!! Until 60 or 70% throttle it sounds almost stock. Then something happens under the hood and it sounds like I've kicked in some kind of exhaust dump except it's coming from the intake. Power is noticably improved, especially in the 4-5k rpm area and immediately following shifts. The acceleration is clearly stronger now with less "dips" in the power production.

Overall I'm very happy with the results and for just a $75 investment it should be a required mod.

 

wow wow wow, $360 for a CAI. Damn, I got my 4 OEM 20" rims and tires for less thandouble that. Go make it yourself. People have too much money or credit cards. No offense Luis, if you have it, more power to you. I wish I had muito/mucho dinero para gastar asi.

 

i know is kind of expensive but it goes on your engine so i dont want to mess with my engine/performance.

I got the same on as you, no instructions. I just put the thing in and haven't had a problem.

 

i opted to come off $315 and buy a AFE high breather intake. i bought a helix spacer kit because it came with the tube i needed to remove the expander and also the throttle body spacer i wanted. i can still remember the huge grin i had the first time i shot up the on ramp onto the freeway. i remember my gf saying it sounds like a racecar. lol

 

Hey I had the same problem with my "Cheezy" E-Bay CAI. I went to put it on and the rubber coupler was a bit larger than the opening of the throttle body. So I went down to the local Lowes and they have in the electrical isle haning on one of the displays this roll of stretchy rubber tape. It's about 3/4 " wide and I just wrapped it a couple of times around the throttle body and bingo it takes up the space for the coupler to mount to. I check it every once in a while and it seems to be ok. One thing I did fine out is that I needed to make a support mount for the center of the tube. Just don't let it hang off the throttle body, the vibration of the motor (because it sounds so sweet when you rev it upnow) will shake it off. I do want to extend mine towards the front more for the cooling I'm building a heat sheild/cold air scoop for it this weekend.

I bought the same one you're talking about on ebay. I had to use the factory sleeve for the intake - the blue one they sent was way too loose.
Other than that, I'm relatively happy with it. Try using the factory adapter, it'll fit much better.

If you figure out where to put them two little tin brackets that come with it..... let me know.

..o yea...I made my own ram air setup from sewer pipes/connectors comin from my foglight.. I have an Amsoil dry filter which has elements in the front also which benefits from the air comin from below...

Ebay intakes are WARM air intakes. I had one and the tube got almost as hot as the engine, just spend more for a quality intake with some type of heat shield, I got a true flow and its badass. Your only gonna buy an intake once anyway, unless you made the same mistake I did, DOH!
