Dodge Ram Duallies
I'm thinking of purchasing a Dodge Ram 2500 TRX-4 duallie in the next 3-4 years. What are the pros and cons about these trucks? Especially for adding taller and wider off road tires and a lift kit?

Well, I am more than sure they will greatly change in 3-4 years. I would post that question later. But from what I heard, Dodge is going to have a stronger CTD in their trucks. For a dually, I guess adding bigger tires would be fine, but why would ya? Dually's are big enough as it is!
Lift kit is going to be more trouble than its worth, Duallies are just two dam big to go off road, to expensive to replace those fiberglass fenders over the rear wheals, and adding bigger rims and tires on the rear is going to cause excess rubbing, more stress on the axles/bearings and is going to decreas your towing abillity.
The whole point of dual rear wheals is to allow a truck better balance when towing/hauling larger than average loads, Gm and Ford have 245 70 17 on thier one tons, don't know abought Dodge.
TX4 option is a waste of money on a one ton. If off road is your goal, go for a power wagon, or a 2500 diesel 4x4.

Thanks guys. I'll make up my mind when the times gets closer. But would like a truck that's great for off-road driving that has a naturally high ground clearance like the 2500's. Just adding bigger tires, better shocksand a levelling kit would be surfice.

I was looking at getting a duallie also. But we had one at work (F-350). Just from driving one, the biggest problem you'll have is finding a parking spot for one. I also have seen one too many times people thinking this is just like any other truck and forget about the extra room you need and have ripped the fenders right off. IMO if you live in the city don't get one. Too hard trying to manuver around the streets. Like everyone else was saying, go with a 2500 power wagon. I'm sure there will be plenty of power. But if you need on for towing I would say go for it. Oh yea, if I'm not mistaken they only come in the 8 ft bed. So a Q/C duallie will be pretty long also..
