Back in January, I traded in my '05 Quad Cab for an '06 Mega Cab and I removed my bed extender. I want to re-install it now, but I can't remember what drill bit size was needed for the screws. Anyone out there install one recently and still have the instructions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It is a Mopar Bed Extender, couldnt find anything there. I'm going to be installing it on saturday, I can always figure it out if I have to, just trying to simplify things for myself if possible
Take the screws to the hardware store and size them up on one of their screw/bolt/nut ID charts. You should be able to determine the drill bit size from that.
Hold it. Are these sheet metal screws? If so, just take a screw and match it up against your bits. Select a bit that is just under the size of the core of the screw. Test the screw in the hole. If it's too tight, step up one size on the bit.
