Default 5.7 in Mega Cab

Is the 5.7L enough engine for the Mega Cab? Not worried about mpg! Just worried about is power. Is the hemi powerful enough for the MC?

A buddy of mine had the hemi and MC without worries. About the only gripe I have heard about the MC is the AC, or lack thereof.

yea +1 on the AC deal. My dad has a RC which it cools fine but you can tell the difference between the air in that and the air in our other vehicles. it's not as good. I could imagine in a mega cab it would suck.

I suggest getting the CTD just because of that lack of MPG but as far as power yea you'll be just fine.

my 06 megacab a/c gets colder than my02 quad did. but it is a large space to cool. the rear vents help and cracking the rear windows at first to expell the hot air also helps. the best thing i found is when my temp guage i keep stuck in the dash vent reaches 60 degrees,to turn fan speed down 1 notch.this will aid cool down as the slower moving air across the coils gets colder. in august my cab is 140 inside when i leave work. home is 6 miles away and it will be comfortable quicker using this method. remember the slower the fan the colder the air!!!

The slower the fan the cooler the air? Sorry to not understand but that goes against the point of having slow through fast speeds for your fan. Why do cooling fans have multi speeds if the slower the fan the cooler it's going to get? So you can turn your AC on low speed to keep you the coolest? Cooler thanthe highest speed of the fan for your ac?

Do '07s have AC problems in Mega cab? I have read that the '06s have had some. But, what about the '07s?

Engine fine here with the hemi and the MC and I have no problems on the ac. I too crack the rear windows at start. It does take a little longer to cool the larger area but all in all, I am happy with it...

I don't think that Dodge has attacked that issue yet for the '07's. I think that the only things changed form '06 to '07 is the tail-lights. I don't think they have fixed the problem.

Just wondering, you have a V8 Cummins Diesel? I never knew those were produced... or were they?
