Default trailer brake controller.

Hi, considering buying a trailer, Tandom axle, under 25 feet, reciaver hitch off the bumper, I have a topper so no 5th wheal.

Looking for opions/advice on were to mount the brake controler, My truck has the manual transmisson, optinal dail for the shift on the fly 4x4 and one option is to install it were the pull shift on the is fly is stanadard, thiers a plastic insert that pops out.

I don't want the controler on the left side of the stearing wheel, under the dash, this will interfear with leg room, I'm also considering dumping the factery radio, this will create room to mount the brank controler over the heater controls.

I have yet to purchass the brake controler ...

After expending a large amount of brain power, I ended up putting it on the right side of the steering wheel right above the gas pedal. I though at first it would interfere with leg room but after trying every possible way to bump it I have still yet to do it.

same here.
it has a slip in bracket, and plug-in wire connector so i just pop it out and put it away when not in use (out of sight for thieves) and there is no way in hell you're gonna bump it unless you're 10'2".
it's also w/in reach for easy adjustment.

well i work at UHAL, where we install custon hitches and brake controlers and tanny coolers. basicly you name it we install it. we generally put it on the passenger side under hte dash or in the glove box alot of ppl like the glove box. if you were lookin for brands of controllers go for a Predator. unlike most contollers the predator does not have tomounted at a certain angle. most controllers work off a pendalum, so when the trucks stops the momentummakes the pendalum make contact. with the predator no need to all that jsut place and go. just info incase you were wantingto know
