Default Cab lights for 1500

I love the way cab lights look on a truck. So, I am thinking of installing some on my 07 QC 1500. Anyone else do this? I am not sure whether to go with an aftermarket brand or OEM, and need to gauge how difficult it is to install myself. Any help?

Clearence lights aren't difficult at all to install, but are somewhat time consuming as interior pillar panels need to be removed and the headliner has to be dropped (partially to completely, depending on your truck) to run wires and drill holes.

Key word here, is: Drill holes.

Get the best quality lights you can, as the last thing you want is leaks due to degerative/cheap-O gaskets, or have issues where you have to yank a light to replace it and have to go through all the labor again. Measure twice, drill once.

Silicone is your friend, as well.

You can run the power wire to a switch, or off your park lamp circuit.

Yea, it was well documented and had before and after pics to go with it. Makes you want to add lights to your truck. Red

Thanks guys. I'll try searching for it.

BTW, I was thinking of going with Recon lights. Any input on their quality? They have some smoked lights that look awesome.

I did mine on a second gen ram recently, used the Recon Smoked Lens lights, no complaints about the quality at all, here's the link:

Thanks for the link jnellydodge. Looks real nice!

So, I have another question based on your message thread - all the sites I've visited lists the Recon cab lights as being for the 2500s and the 3500s. Will they work on a 1500? And, do you know if the "pre-drilled holes" exist on the 1500s as well?
