Default He was overcharged!

My buddy called me this morning, he was all happy.
He just bought an '07 1500 4x4.

He said he picked it up, and brought it to have a Flowmaster cat back ehaust put on it. He said "they're gonna do it for $325.00. How ca you beat that?"

I said " I bought mine on eBay for $160, and installed it myself - exact same thing as yours!"

I told him that if he would've asked, I would've done his for the same money - he just forgets that he has a friend that aint gonna screw him over. I told him that he probably wants to join the forum, any question he has, he can ask. It's always better to ask someone first, rather than unintentionally screw yourself.

I dunno....

I guess....

I guess I have to remind him that I'm around, and that I am willing to help if he'd just ask. I don't like seeing others get screwed. We're not real close freinds, but I know if I need him, I can give him a call. We only live five miles apart, and we see each other every other month. He helped me out alot when I was layed off for the first time two years ago. I repayed the favor by working on his vehicles, rebuilding his pressure washer, doing some electrical around his house.

It's nice to have true freinds. Gotta let 'em know they're appreciated!

Doesthat $160 exhaust have the 3" inlet flowmaster muffler and the 2 1/2" tail pipes? My 06 with the 4.7 has the 3" front pipe and I'm pretty sure the 07's have the 3" also. I bought a system off ebay for $249 that said it would work on 02-06 but it would not fit the 06's and had to senf it back. The only system I found was the flowmaster kit through summit that was only for the 06-07 models and it was $400. So if he got the same system at $325 he got a good deal.

I purchased mine from Madhattergurl on eBay a couple of months back. It was 3" in and dual 2.5" out, flowmaster.

Here's a link to the ebay store that I bought mine from. Looks like the price went up by about ten bucks.
$179 plus shipping still ain't bad.....

Same seller and system that I purchased from the first time, but that system won't fit the 06 and up because of the frame change. And the seller did not have a system that would fit an 06 and up and was not aware of the frame change on the 06 and up.

You what though...he wasnt overcharged!!

Thats what these muffler places charge for Flowmasters.I went to have some put on my Mustang and they wanted 180.00 ea. installed.I bought a catback for 260.00 and did it myself.Alot of people that dont know alot about cars might think that's a deal @ 325.00.If you dont have the knowledge or tools,325.00 might NOT be a bad deal.

But the guy told him...

Since your such a good customer / freind, I'll do it for $325

Which is actually full price!

I'd hate to see what he would charge an acquaitance!

HE made it sound like my friend was getting a deal, when actually - he wasn't getting any discount at all. My friend is not very savvy when it comes to vehicles. He just makes the payment, puts gas in it, and goes. Granted, he should learn a little more to protect himself. He doesn't understand what makes it go - he just knows when it doesn't, he has to take it somewhere....
