Default Ziebart or Rust-Check ????

Need some advise ... with the approaching winter ahead I am looking at rust proofing the RAM. I live in Canada where road salt is used alot. Only have two choices, Ziebart or Rust-Check. Ziebart has the black rubber spray underneath and a liquid in the door panels ... Rush-Check is liquid all around. Whats your opinion [sm=confused06.gif]

Any other comments? I think I prefer Ziebart since it coats the bottom of the truck and does not wash away .. it also acts as a sound deadener. With the Rust-Check it drips for a few days and may wash away after a few months.

Never heard of any of this stuff before. My truck is five years old. Do you think it's too late to have it done? How much does the process usually cost? How long does it take? Any other info would be great.

In Canada the Ziebart is $299 initallyand $50 a year for reapplication ... Rush-Check is $139 a year every year. They both take about a day ... they wash the underneath real good, let it dry and apply the rust protection.

To be honest I have heard nothing but GREAT things about the oil based system. Yes you must get it recoated every year, but it works 1,00000 times better than the rubberized coating. In some cases the rubberized coating actually helps rust by trapping salt, etc. I say go with the oil treatment!

Oil!Oil!Oil!I do mine myselfnow. But it's a realdirty job. I don't trust the people appling it. I once removed my door skins (4 doors) after a treatment to find minimal to no oil inside the doors!Never been back since.

I was definately unimpressed with the results of the Ziebart I had on my jeep in the early 90s. The jeep rusted like there was no tomorrow. Had I been stateside I could have gotten it covered by a warranty repair but the overseas Jeep division didn't honor the ziebart warranty.

After some research and the help here I am going with the Rust Check oil treatment. If I still have the truck ten years from now I'll give you an update if it works. I better post a sticky note to remind me
