Are MDS Hemis offered on Mega Cabs? I have an '06 and was told they didn't offer MDS on the Mega Cabs.The only reason I ask is I thought I seen another post where some one did have a Mega Cab with MDS. How do you tell if it is a regular 5.7 or not. The window sticker says 5.7 liter Hemi(R).

06 and afterHemi's have all have MDS.

 

Man, I hate to correct you here, but ALL 1500 series Hemi's have MDS - except Mega Cabs.
NO 2500 series Hemi's have MDS.
This is true for '06 & '07 models, of course, prior to '06, NO Hemi's have MDS.

You are correct. All 1500's 2006 and up do have the setup, with the exception of the 1500 Mega Cab, as even though it is a 1500, its on a 2500 frame, its actually a heavy duty truck. None of the 2500 and up/ heavy duty trucks come with MDS. For one, they are too damned big and MDS would only operate on the highway, if at constant speed. It is usless on a large truck, as acceleraating or driving around town require more throttle to get a Mega moving. The MDS would not have any time to operate, as the revs would not be low enough.

I did not know this for the longest time and I was posting about my MDS not ever giving me problems and not complaining how it sounded and such. When I found out, I felt like an idiot. LOL!!!
