Is any one useing 4.10 gears with ther 3.7 with 6 Speed maual Trans if so how do you like them and if you had to do it again would you put them back in or should I be looking at 3.90's instead.

What kind of RPM's are you turnning at 70 MPH are you running out of motor to sooon run 4.10.

I do mostly HWY Driving around 70 MPH for now I planning to run the stock diameter tire size mite go with a 295-55 -20 latter.

Marv,
Did you ever change gears? If so, what did you go with?
I am keenly interested in switching to a 4.10, unless it would *hurt* something else.
I also have a V6, 6sp manual 2wd.

thanks,

-Pat

Not as of Now I don't know if I planning to keep this truck I dont want to put any more extra money in to it.

What I have read 410 gears work great with 31 inch tires you be turnning around 2600 RPM's at 70 MPH and 2000 RPM's at 60 you gas MPG mite even go up the motor is not working as hard keeping the speed up and you will gain bottem end.

It should cost around $700.00 for the gear change parts and labor If you want to change out the Carrior with a posi type add anouther $600.00 to it HAVE IT DONE by a Good shop been there done that Shop around see what other have to say about there work.

Per Diff.

Oh yea I like the truck don't like the 3.7 V-6 to undered powered for me I use to a truck with more BAL!!S, We will see after it's payed off what will I get next time around I wish they Still made the SRT, I don't care about MPG anymore Thats why I gotten he 3.7 man was that a mistake I should of gotten the Hemi or the SRT-10 yea SRT-10 I would of ben totaly happy with the truck then the 3.7 MPG sucks so mite as well get a truck with some power to it.

It's sad when the 4.7 and the Hemi guys are getting the same and better MPG up on the HWY than are 3.7 are getting.

Dont be amazed if some a-hole from the non v6 forum goes back there and says "man you should read what the v6 are saying" or "I feel sorry for the v6 guys". There is always some dickwad. Well let me tell you, engine swap? only if you are willing to spend on a new transmission, also mounts, computer, get all the harnesses in the engine bay, you might have to get a stronger shaft (propeller).
Like marv02 said, if you dont care having "engine lights" on all over your dash, get an engine that doesnt depend on a computer, a true engine, a big block, an engine that only needs gas and oil."Fornication Under Consent of the King" the sensors, who needs them, they are just there to make dealer shops money.

Like I said I will most likely get anouther truck after this one Paid OFF it not worth putting that much money in to motor swap or doing a major engine hop up you have to go though the whole engine to get it right then work out all the bugs with the CPU it's not worth it.

But if there was no Smog or CPU to deal with BIG BLOCK, or at least a very well built Small Block.

If you want to wait untill it's paid off then I think about it.

I have a couple more years to go before I get rid of the Dodge.
