Default Question on tires?

Ok i have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with those 20 inch rims and i have gone through a few sets of tires now from michelins, toyo a/t and what not, im looking for a more aggressive look and ive decided to go with the Toyo M/T open country, now with out a lift in my truck is it possable to fit the 35/12.5/20 on my truck or do i have to go with the 33/12.5 /20..............if anyone could get back to me that would be great

You can't run 35's with no lift. You can only run 33's. If you level it you will be able to run the 35's though.

Hansen,
How do you level the front end? Does this go for both 4X4's and 2's?

HansOn,

It depends, on a 2wd you need spacers. On a 2002-2005 4wd you can get new torsion keys or just crank up the torsion bolts. Ona 2006-2007 4wd you need coil spacers.

Go with the 35's look a lot better and more clearance if off roading. I am planning on going to 37's soon (next set.)

I used a revtek leveler kit, cost me $75 new from some online site magazine (don't remember which one). Gave me about a 3" lift and ran me $150 to get it installed, they said it should have costed more because it took them longer then they thought but thats what they quoted me. If I hadn't lifted it in the front, my 35x12.5x20s wouldn't have cleared the fron when I turn. And byt eh way, if you're not 100% set on those tires, I love my 35x12.5x20 Cooper Discoverer STTs. Aggresive look, low noise for a tire of that type. imo of course, everyone is different.

they call it a 2" leveling kit, I think it gave me a little more than 2" that why I say 3" lift. I'll have to take some pics, haven't had any good ones since I got the tires. I will say, the lift kit was cheap and didn't affect my ride what so ever. The dealership said it wouldn't void my warranty and you can't really even see them just by looking at the shocks/springs. Only part that worried me was that the spacers are only about 15/16 of an inch but once on and I saw the difference they made that worry went right away, I still got over 2"s of extra height...they called it a pre-load spacer at a 2.5:1 ratio. Email me at scott1998transam@yahoo.com and remind me to toake those pics and I'll reply back with the pics.
