Default Buying drag radials and wheels?

I am looking to buy a rear pair of drag wheels and tires but have no idea how to match them to my front 22" SRT-10 wheels. Dose anyone know what is the best size tire and wheel to match or how to find out?

You need at least 17" wheels to clear your rear brakes. Maybe larger if the SRT-10 rear brake calipers are larger.

With that being said, there are numerous tire calculators out there to figure out the tire size needed to equal what size tire you need, to stay with the same diamter, whether it be a 18, 19, 20 0r 21" rim.......

From what I have heard is that Nitto is the only company to make anything in the 20's and from the Nitto technition himself he said they dont even offer anything in the twenties. What I was hoping to avoid was buy a new set of wheels beacuse I can't use an 18 or 17 with the 22" fronts. I am very happy with the perellis I have just looking to have moe fun.

You can if you use a rear tire that is the same height as the 22" front.

IE: 235-70-15 is the same height as a 245-60-16.....

That's why I referred you to a tire calculator.

If you want drag radials you should def. get 17's. I dont remember where it was but I did some research and found a post speaking of this same thing. It stated that going from 20's to 17's that you should be able to improve your track time by like 5 tenths because of the dif. in rotational weight. Less horsepower needed to turn smaller wheel. I guess it is all in the math. I plan to test the theory once I find a set.

You don't have to use the same size tires front and back unless you are going to be racing in 4wd. You can race with 36's up front and 18's in the back if you wanted to, but it would look a little silly.

On a secondary note I will be selling my drag racing rims and tires if you are interested. Skinnies on stock 17' rims up front and M&H Drag radials 275/50/17's on Eagle 17" Alloy 187's for the rear. The skinnies are Michelin Pilot Sports, 225/55/17.

But if I kept my 22's or my stock 20's (crap) on the front would a smaller set of 17's like the set your talking about effect the timing alot? Or are you best with say a all around set of 17's like the ones yours selling? And on that note what might your selling price be for your two sets?

The weight difference is what the killer is. You will definitely have faster times with a lighter tire and rim combination. Go do a search over on Dodge Talk . com in the 3rd Gen Ram performance section and you will find hundreds of posts that should answer your questions.

As far as the rims and tires I am selling them for $550 plus s/h.

Is that a combo that you ran on the track in your truck and overall isa drag wheele setupworth getting for the time differances gained? Considering I have preaty kickass tires as is and I am not planning any huge engine upgrades anytime soon. I will be putting in the 6.1 cams when they are realeased for the 07 with Mopar howerver. Cheers
