Question about suspension lift............
I am looking into getting a new lift kit for my truck. I was looking atCST 2002-2007 Dodge Ram 1500 7" Lift. On performancelifts.com there is a note that says this,
Please read this! Due to the design of the 2002-2007 Ram 1500 2wd suspension you MUST run a stock length front shock, even when installing a suspension lift. Why? Because the front shock is what prevents the aluminum upper control arm from knocking against the top of the steel frame rail. Running a shock that has a longer extended length than stock will cause premature upper control arm ball-joint damage. For this reason we STRONGLY recommend running a factory length replacement shock with this kit.
Now I already have a 2.5" Daystar coil spacer which leveled out my truck. I was looking into just getting a set of 3 or 4 inch lift spindles which will give me a 5.5 to 6.5 inch total lift.
Back to my orginal guestion. Right now I am running a longer shock with the 2.5" leveling kit, should I be using a stock length shock????
