The light is not the only thing in a tail light. There are also reflectors inside and if smoked they do not work as well if at all. You have to have some way for your truck to be seen from the rear if you was disabled on the side of the road at night with no battery charge left. Thats where your reflectors come in to play...

Why would you want to “smoke†your tail lights if it makes them not as visible? With everybody tailgating and talking on the phone today, why would you want to make it easier for them to hit you? I love my truck. I would never lessen its safety features to make it look “coolâ€. Red
