Default Orderd Superchips today

Just ordered my Superchips and was wondering if anyone had some pre advise on the best way program it. i hope it is woth the money. Any suggestions or anything i should know before i start.

+1 I know a lot of people swear by the 87 octane tune, but I use Performance 91 all the time...

download the update before you program your truck. If you are going to run a premium tune, start running premium gas now so there won't be any low octane gas in your tank. Oh yeah, I would run the premium tune, you will like it better.

...yup, I was runnin 87 for awhile and changed back to 91 tune... it does lay rubber on the 1-2 shifts...it really enhances the performance of all my mods...

Where did you order it from? I've been going back and forth between Jet Stage 2 or Superchips for weeks now but was thinking of getting the Superchips so I can adjust for my 22s

Ebay. The guy had all the the manuals its like new and wasnt vin locked.

Once an owner installs a premium program, the programmer will lock to that specific truck because it is storing the stock program for that truck. This is the basic VIN lock of the programmer. The only way that you can use a preowned programmer is if the previous owner puts his truck back to stock, thus leaving the programmer unlocked to store a new VIN ID for tuning. Make sure if you are buying a used unit, that the owner specifically states that his truck has been put back to the stock tune...
