Default Gear Question

Sorry to beat on twice killed dead horse, but would I need to upgrade the front diff gear on my 4x4 07 Hemi Megacab if I upgraded to a 4.56 for my 10.5" rear? Or should I be ok just doing the rear? Thanks.

Default RE: Gear Question

If you did the rear only, and NEVER put it 4 wheel drive you would be fine. If you tried to run in 4 wheel

drive with 2 different ratios, the tow truck driverwouldhave a wholebunch of busted parts to pick up off the road...[sm=oopssign.gif]

yes. Some mud racers use different ratios, but they're built race trucks. For a driver you need to match the front and rear.

Now if you're tight on money you could do the rear and later do the front, but you couldn't use 4x4. IT WILL Break something in the drive line. I had a friend that upgraded the rear, then like 6 months later did the front and he pulled the front driveshaft so he couldn't even by accident use 4x4. That was a Chevy, should be the same with a dodge though.
