No BUS on '03 Ram HEMI
My instrument cluster has been shutting off with a NO BUS signal recently. I know this to mean the cluster is not communicating with the rest of the vehicle BUS. This problem used to be corrected by an abrupt thud of my hand to the dash panel. However, the problem has gotten progressively worse to the point where beating the dash doesn't turn the cluster back on. I've taken the cluster out and checked the connectors for loose wires with no success. I wouldn't be too upset about this failure if it were not for the wipers and the AC not working.
Since a jar to the dash turns the cluster on/off I am thinking it may be a loose solder or connection in the cluster itself. Does anyone have any experience or advice to offer? I am not too excited about the prospect of buying a $600 OEM instrument cluster.

check the connections with other modules....we had this problem a couple times and most of the time a connector on a different module was loose....also, check grounds and all that good stuff.......
for example, (i know not the same vehicle, but same problem) we had a Dodge Stratus come in on the hook with a "no bus" on the IC...so we tested it, and it was an intermitent problem, so finally after quite a bit of testing we narrowed it down to the BCM...what had happened is the HVAC leaked water into the module and gave it this problem....

doesn't sond good, this exact thing jappened to me, the wires in the back of the panel were fried and i had to have it replaced, $800, check to make sure the aren't loose though, rebuilding the entire circuit stsytem can cost over 1k hopefully its not that, check the wires in the back of the guages, you might have to get it all replaced
