Default not running right

Ok so I had a code for a # 7 misfire come on for a couple of days and then the check engine light went off but I went ahead and changed out all the plugs wires rotor and cap. I did a recheck on the code by turning the key on and off a couple of times and it still gives me the code but the light has not been on for like a week straight. Does it store the code for awhile? Also when I jump on the throttle and I think it is when it shifts from 3rd to 4th it misfires or something because it boggs down real bad and kinda of backfires do you know what that would be from. Would it be the plugs still after I changed them or could it be a bad filter or vaccum hose or something. Please Help. Thanks Joey

idk what kind of truck you have, but it sounds like timing advance or something like that. check your vac lines and stator. the only other thing i can think of that would bog you down at throttle would be bad fuel filter. air filter too, but it would have to be pretty damn dirty to do that.
