Default doge hemi vs. chevy 427

Guys i ran across this on you tube a few days ago. I was speechless. I hope chevy produces this truck so it'll force dodge to bring back the big boy hemi's of the past. I dont know about the rest of you guys, but i'd love to see a 7+ liter hemi slated for production.

what do you guys think? Our hemi's are tough, but that thing sounds mean. Probably no need to worry though. I don't think chevy has the ***** to go through with it. But on the other hand if they did and it was an overhead cam 32 valve 427 i'd give a conservative estimate of about 400-450 hp at the wheels and over 500ft/lbs of torque.

They've already put a pushrod 427 worth 500+ hp in the ZO6 Corvette.

I really hate to say it but the 6.1 that is in the Power Wagon and SRT stuff is about one of the best motors out there. Dodge has really restricted that motor to keep it at 425hp. I have seen reports of our 5.7's having a little head work and a cam put in them and making way over 500hp. If they really want to throw out there Ace card all Dodge has to do is look around in the shop a little and over 600hp from a 6.1 wont be an issue.

I think a 426 hemi would kick a$$ have one of those in like a ram R/T version just a regular cab short box 2wd just like the lightnings come out that would be awesome then beef up the 6.1llittle more and throw them in the rams too then dodge would be taking over competition. send that toyota back to japan were it belongs.

Sorry guys, brand loyalty is kewl and all, but facts is facts.

If they took the 427 and did the right electronic tune and internals, that would eat any NA 6.1 hemi.

I had a 427 machined to 431 in the 1970's. Made around 600 hp on carb and pump gas.

Cubic inches win races when you need to stay naturally aspirated.

Yep, if you go back to the 427's in the 60's.....those motors were monsters then and they're still monsters now. You have a 7.0L V8 getting 18-27mpg in a Corvette Z06, while producing 500hp on regular gas....albeit premium....but its a stock motor.

You also have to consider that GM is switching to a new motor style in the very near future, and they're dropping a detuned BlueDevil Corvette motor into a Cadillac CTS-V (600hp).

Ummmm, the 427 motor is one of the best known, best built, and best performing motors EVER. To be perfectly honest with you, I'd take a current 427 over any current "wannabe Hemi" motor being built. Remember, the current Hemi's are not true Hemi's.
